About Aidan Cuffe.
Well i guess you’ve come to the right place, i mean i am him, your obviously here through a couple of possible means, you either know me or your internet travels have sent you spirally across the interweb towards something ive written, something clever i’ve said or quite possibly, google returning all the love ive shown it over the years and giving me a nice ranking. Hey anythings possible right.
Ok well lets start with the Vitals
Name : Aidan Philip Bernard Cuffe (Philips my middle name, Bernard my Confirmation name after my granddad)
Age : Currently 22, but incase i havnt updated in a while born 01/08/1985
Location : Currently Living in Swords, County Dublin, Ireland
Been living there all my life, used to live in Rivervalley but noisy neighbours ended up driving us out, Currently living still with the parents on the far side of swords near glen ellen. Once ive got my financial situation sorted i’ll probably move out, but for not im not so pushed.
Description : Naughty, but i’ll try, Ive Short brown hair, brown eyes, for the more part i maintain some stubble, im not fat but i could lose a pound or two if i tried, ive size 11 shoes and the rest you will have to piece together from picture of me or by meeting/knowing me
Education : Well i grew up in Rivervalley so i attended the Holy Family National School for eight of my childhood years followed swiftly by Colaiste Choilm, Swords for my secondary school, which i graced for 5 years. I left that and headed into DIT Kevin Street where i studied computer science which i graduated from last year with student of the year. Im currently working a year on from that in a company called CR2 which specialise in Channel banking software for banks. All very riviting stuff im sure you’ll find.

Hobby’s :
I run a website www.goldenplec.com which is a 5 year standing music project of mine, hopefully one day it will be recognised as such and i’ll be famous in ireland, who knows, hehe, feel free to join
Magic, i do card magic as a hobby, i love baffling people and creating that sense of wonder in people’s eyes, most recently i did it to a few girls at oxegen and the look on their faces makes me want to get into magic even more, i love when people really appreciate a good trick.
Snooker, I play for Sportslink as captain of the B team, were a general middle of the road team and we cause the occasional upset like finishing runner up in the cup. My first ever snooker trophy, i feel priveleged 
Darts, a recent passion along with the upsurge of the PDC ive become a decent player through practise, played my first tournament and went out to my dad (how ironic to get drawn against him in the second round out of 64 people) who is 3 years running a semi finalist in that competition, i had darts to win 3-1 and ended up losing 3-2. A lesson learnt, if i can beat my dad i know i can go far in the tournaments, so im practising for the next ones
Football, apart from a few fleeting 11 a side matches with a team under the guise of Los Galacticos i havnt been playing 11 a side football much, i hope to join either Swords Rovers or Fingal Athletic this year.
However we have been playing a lot of 5 a side in the 5 a side leagues under the name of Balloon FC : www.balloonfc.com
We have been in 2 straight finals in 2 seasons and although we did not enter a team in the summer league, we hope to return and finally claim the winners medal we all think were worth.
I am Aidan Cuffe, a 23 year old IT Graduate, I play Darts and Football for local teams, Occasionally can be found doing card magic or dancing on a night out.

Reading the manual is useful, it does say how to access speaker phone etc. You can read this with the PDF app, as the manual is on the phone or you can down load it from HTC’s site. With regard to the ringtones issue I downloaded an app called Ringdroid, just Google it. It set up a couple of directories for you to place ringtones in and notification tones. I didn’t use the ring tone creator that is Ringdroid I just dragged my tones from my PC in to the appropriate media folder. You can then assign tones to message alerts and contacts. Seems to work but I’m not holding my breath as setting up this aspect of the Hero is a real pain and keeps reverting back to the default tone, but we will see.

To be fair the manual is there to help but i would be more disappointed that the phone isnt naturally intuitive to complete a simple task like setting a ringtone.
I talked to a number of other HTC Hero Owners and it turns out if you drop MP3’s into the Notifications Folder in the Media Folder the phone will pick them up automatically and give them as options. So a quick download of a File Manager from the App Market and i was away in a hack.
I like the hero, its probably one of the best phones ive owned and i really like the step up in functionality from N95 to Hero. I just feel in some cases some things just dont feel natural or logical to complete and sometimes its a basic task like the speakerphone thing that could easily have had a touch button on the call screen or setting a ringtone (where i still feel any Mp3 files should automatically be in the list) but as long as i can get what i want to do done by asking around im not too hacked off. Just would be a big promoter of intuitive user interfaces for completing tasks

hey cuffe,just to let u know i witnessed one of those €1 scratch cards pay out €5000,a weeks of weeks before christmas,,a mate of mine bought one scratched it won €2 and got another two,scratched them and won the jackpot…….
