So yes, ive been off work and away from a PC for the best part of Xmas, i was online a bit, but not with the inclination to write a blog unfortunately, so this will have to be a catchup of my xmas and new year but nothing too lengthy.
so i was off over xmas from work entirely, and every year the same thing happens, i go to better later and later until the point where im going to bed aroudn 10am and have to go right through to fix my body clock, its an annual thing which i can never avoid.
Pre Christmas i did a bit of shopping, finished off my Xmas presents for my Grannies and Kris Kindle. and got a hair cut and the likes, basic pre christmas stuff. Played a bit of Fifa and Pro Evo with the lads.
Christmas Day i got a Slendertone System Abs system, Fifa 10 and a few nice items of clothes and smellies. I got Xfactor live tickets for Mammy and Sister, Darts World Magazine Subscription for the year and Robbie williams latest album for my dad and an Aston Villa shirt for my brother.
After a lovely dinner, and a few games of the new fifa with my brother, i headed over to rivervalley for the usual rounds and our kris kindle (normally xmas eve but this year xmas day made more sense), lots of cool presents, not least the one jack did which i ended up getting, its Guess who, but he has changed the pictures and cards to be pictures of all our friends. So instead of asking generic questions like, do they have a mustache, you can ask personal questions like, Has X slept with Y to figure out who it is.
Cracking Present.
We did the rounds of the houses from Jacks, To Kevs, To Chucks, To Maca’s, To Lou’s, eventually everyone retiring either drunk or asleep around 4am. Great day and night all round, lots of food, drinks and deserts had. Loved it and seeing everyone properly again.
Just before christmas i was out on a night out with cashen and the guys i went to portugal with for Claires birthday, i went on that night out and during the night i was chatting a lot to claires friend dierdre, of course the end of the night the other girlies were asking me “so did you get her number” etc etc as only girls can, which i hadnt, of course i get a txt that night off a girl i had been seeing saying we should be just friends. Interesting.
The next day, Dierdre texted me, which i thought was cool and quite brave, so of course i can only do whats right and reward the bravado with a date, as delboy always says, “She who dares, wins”
We went on that date, and i wont discuss much but i will say things did not go to plan, RDS was closed so funderland and ice-skating plan went to shit, i beat her at bowling and pool whilst looking away trying to lose (have to be a gent) and we then went cinema (which im told is terrible for a first date) and the car broke down. So you could say embarrassing or a disaster, but i kinda enjoyed the madness, and so did she, so it was all good.
New years eve i had no plans. but last minute i received a call from Chuck and Maca who were in blackrock, they offered me a bed in Blackrock, good company, a Sunday Roast and some drinks and a place to crash and dance. how could i say no. so i went out and had what can only be described as an EPIC dinner, it was fantastic, the gravy was special, the spuds were delicious and i couldnt have enjoyed it more. Thanks to Maca and Chuck for slaving over the dinner that night.
We finished up food around quarter to 12, turned on the TV for the countdown and then danced the night away in Maca’s and Mellisa’s apartment. Me and Chucky last to turn in for bed around 9am-10am good stuff, the next day we got up around 3pm and got a T.G.I Fridays dinner and had some great banter, the food was extremely good there, having not had a TGI fridays before, i have to say i would eat there again, yum. I eventually got back to swords around half 9pm, watched the Taylor – Lewis World Championship Quarter Final. A Cracking New Years
also on December 27th i was at a darts tournament, i won my first match 3-0 but couldnt find the same form in my next match and was bashed 3-0
Mick and Jacko Barry met in the Semi Finals, Noel who beat me met Dudger byrne in the other Semi.
Jacko beat Mick and Dudger beat Neol and Jacko trumpted dudger in the final. Hopefully im starting to get towards the point where i can get to the latter stages of tournaments and be meeting these types of players more often.
The last saturday of my holidays Myself, Peter, Colin and Cashen headed to Cinema to see paranormal activity, AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL, do not see this movie, FUCKING AWFUL, we headed to the lamb and played pool for a while and then hit velvet where we got in for free for being old regulars, how sound.
On the way home we stopped by Mizzoni, a fight happened and a guy got kicked in the head, peter went over to help the guy (being a doctor) i grabbed peter some tissues from mizzoni to help stop the bleeding whilst we waited for the guards and ambulance. Gave a statement to the guards (though i have to drop in on wednesday to give one formally) and peter gave his details of how he felt the guy was to the paramedics before we moved onwards to mine for a few games of Fifa before the lads went home. Mad Night.
So that takes me up to yesterday, where i watched the world final of darts and went to work without sleeping to fix my sleeping pattern, got home yesterday and went asleep at 6pm. Woke up today at 7am and have been in work all day. Sleeping pattern hopefully on the right pattern now. Huzzah. Quality 2-3 week i must say.
