So its been a quiet few weeks, apologies for that, Football and Darts went off the agenda and there was very little to report bar work, sleep and work.
I had a darts tournament last night out in the cricket club in rush, i went out with Mick and Jacko Barry, My dad, Arron Lowndes and Dylan Rutledge and Kian barker.
I as i always seem to do, got a bye in the first round, i know this is going to sound silly, but i almost hate bye’s because it guaruntee’s your playing a good player in the next round and you havnt even thrown any darts yet
Poor Kian got drawn against Jacko, Dylan got drawn against Willy, so 2 Comchilles on Colmchilles matches there.
Arron Lowndes Progressed easy enough, as did mick barry, Jack beat Kian and Dylan beat Willy, My dad lost his match to tufty
In the next round i beat my opponent after going 1-0 down, taking out 70 (1 – 19- bull) and then nearly hit a Shanghai to win 2-1 finishing next go on D10
Arron Lowndes got knocked out in this round, Mick and Jacko Progressed again, Dylan got knocked out too with double trouble
Next round i got drawn against the guy who beat arron lowndes, i lost 3-0 but it was an unbelievable game, big score after big score all 3 games ending in around 18 darts, in the first leg i had 5 darts to beat him, in the third leg i had 3 darts to beat him. i just couldnt hit my double but otherwise was throwing the better darts. So i was out, but still very proud of my performance.
Mick and Jacko Progressed but jacko was given a scare by dudger byrne who went 2-0 up against jacko before jacko came back 3-2
Jacko won in the semi and mick went out to anto caldwell in a great match. Anto throwing great darts during the day
In the Final Anto’s darts seemed to desert him, the big scores he’d been hitting all day went awry and jacko reletively strolled despite Anto’s best efforts.
Jacko won the Final, another title to the comchilles boys, great craic all round.
Next Friday is the Semi Final of the Cup, with it carries the chance of a potential All Colmchilles final if we can manage a win
